24-bit Drums (Funk, Jazz & Recording Kits)
The Beat Shop Two kits were meticulously sampled through a complete range of playable velocities using eight microphones tube preamps and pristine 24-bit ADCs. Thee close and overhead samples were then mixed for each individual drum to obtain optimal punch and room ambinence.

Groove
The Beat Shop Two grooves were performed by world class drummers in professional studios. EMU's sound designers then broke the grooves down into their various thythmic components and looped them at the same tempo providing an almost infinite variety or rhythmic compinations.

Beat Shop two also provides preset that combine grooves and a drum kit on the same keymap allowing you to play hits together with the groove. the grooves can also be moduleated using the Emulator's extensive PatchCord matrix.

This is a child's drum kit played in the waiting room outside the control room. The room was fairly small and really live.

The Beat Grooves were performed by first call New York drummers in professional studios.

Recording
Multiple microphones captured the performance on separate track. The best tracks were later selected and mixed.
This technique allowed us to capture the natural, live sound that you hear in the groove samples.

Using a combination of close and room microphone and multi velocity layering, individual pieces of the drum kits were mixed to create the ultimate realism. As soft layers graduate to louder layers, more room sound is included.
